LAUSD COACHES GATHER FOR CONCUSSION TRAINING
Over 1,000 coaches gathered at Helen Bernstein High School yesterday for education about concussions.  LAUSD united with the Sports Legacy Institute to provide the free program thanks to the California Concussion Coalition.  Click on the picture for more information about the prevalence of concussions among high school athletes and to learn more about the organization.  
LAUSD’s Director of Athletics Barbara Fiege said, “We are very excited to begin this important training for our high school coaches! The incidence of concussion is of significant concern at this time, and education on this topic is extremely important. On behalf of the Los Angeles Unified School District, and most importantly our student athletes, we appreciate the staff of the Sports Legacy Institute, Carol Quimby-Bonan, City Council Member Tom LaBonge, and all of the others who have played a part in making this happen.”
